What to Do After Your Appointment

After your appointment you should call your referring physician’s office to let them know you’ve completed your tests.  Some offices prefer to wait until they get the report to schedule your follow-up. We suggest that you still call to notify them that you’ve seen Dr. Iyer. With few exceptions, your report is sent by 9:00AM the next business day following your appointment.  If your referring physician indicates that they do not have your report please ask them to call our office and request it. Some other important points to keep in mind:

  • If you do not plan to go back to your referring physician, while you’re in the office, request a copy be sent to you for your records.  Be sure to specify your preferred method of delivery on your paperwork.
  • If you would like us to send your report to any entities other than the physician who referred you, including your primary care physician, we ask that you put their name(s) and phone/fax numbers on your paperwork so as to not delay receipt.
  • You may request your report be emailed to you after your appointment by filling out our Electronic Medical Records Transmission Form on page 2 of your registration packet or by requesting one while you’re in the office.  However, if this was not filled out or turned in at the time of your appointment we cannot accept it without your presence in the office.  You can still request we send it to your home or you may come and pick it up with a valid photo ID.  We can only mail it to the address you provided on your paperwork, so please make sure your information is correct and up to date.
